Men's Basketball Faces First Road Test at UTSA

  • SIUE opened its 58th season of men's basketball Tuesday with a 119-50 win over East-West University. 
  • The 119 points marks the fourth-highest total in program history and the most points scored since a 124-105 win over Southern Indiana in December 1994.
  • SIUE's 69-point margin of victory ranks in a tie for third highest. It is the highest margin of victory since SIUE moved to Division I in 2008.
  • All 13 players who appeared for SIUE scored at least a point and pulled down at least one rebound. 
  • The Cougars are now 27-31 in season openers. SIUE is 41-17 all-time in home openers and have won their last five in a row.
  • SIUE won 12 games at home each of the last two years. The Cougars are 25-5 dating to the beginning of the 2023-24 season.
