EVANSVILLE, Ind. – SIUE fell to Southern Indiana 79-42. The Cougars had their lowest scoring half in program history having 12- points in the first half of the game.
The Cougars are now 5-22 overall and 3-15 in OVC, while the Screaming Eagles are 20-9 overall and 12-6 in OVC.
Ava Gugliuzza led the team with 10 points going 3-7 from the field and 3-6 from beyond the arc. She also had four rebounds and two assists.
Macy Silvey followed with eight points, and one rebounds.
Jaiden Bryant had five rebounds, marking her eighth game of the season as the leader.
USI was led by Meredith Raley who had 16 points and 10 rebounds.
While the Cougars only had 12 points in the first half their shooting improved in the second half making 40 percent (6-15) of their shots from the field and 44 percent (4-9) of their three-pointers in the fourth quarter alone.
As a team the Cougars had 16 points off the bench, six points in the paint and six points off turnovers. The Screaming Eagles had 19 points off the bench, 34 points in the paint and 19 points off turnovers.
