COOKEVILLE, Tenn. – Women's basketball falls to Tennessee Tech after an hour and a half delay for a tornado warning with four minutes to go in the second quarter. The Cougars were unable to find momentum when play resumed falling to the Golden Eagles 80-54.
The Cougars are now 4-19 overall and 2-12 in OVC play. The Golden Eagles improved to 17-5 overall and 11-2 in OVC play.
KK Rodriguez led the team with 11 points going 5-15 from the field. She also contributed four rebounds and two assists.
Brianna Wooldridge and
Molly Sheehan had nine points each. Wooldridge also led the team with six rebounds and connected on 4-8 of her shots from the field.
As a team SIUE connected on 35 percent (22-62) of their shots from the field, and 23 percent (4-17) of their shots from three-point range. There were 32 points in the paint and 22 points off the bench.
Tennessee Tech was led by Peyton Carter who had 16 points, five rebounds and five assists.
As a team the Golden Eagles connected on 42 percent (27-64) of their shots from the field, and 46 percent (13-28) of their shots from three-point range. They also had 24 points in the paint and 19 points off the bench.
