EDWARDSVILLE, Ill.- SIUE had three players scoring in the double digits contributing to their 81-76 win over Little Rock.
 
The Cougars finished their season 6-23 overall and 4-16 in Ohio Valley Conference Play. The Trojans fell to 14-16 overall and 12-9 in OVC before entering the tournament next week.
 
Senior Molly Sheehan had a career high 23 points going 7-for-11 from the field and 5-for-9 from three-point range. Sofie Lowis matched her career-high six three-pointers made. She last hit this against Northern Illinois in the 2023 season. Lowis also had a season high 19 points. KK Rodriguez also had a career-high eight rebounds. Rodriguez put up 17 points going 8-for-18 from the field.
 
Ava Gugliuzza opened the scoring for the Cougars in the first quarter hitting a three-pointer with 5:36 to go.
 
The Trojans led the scoring for the for the first quarter, but Molly Sheehan made a three-pointer in the last 23 seconds cutting the lead to five points.
 
The score was tied the game five times in the second quarter when Sheehan hit another three-pointer giving the Cougars the lead (36-33).
 
Sug Williams was unable to break SIUE's lead after a pair of free throws before halftime making the score 41-38.
 
A n Ava Gugliuzza three-pointer put the Cougars ahead by 13 points, with 1:29 remaining in the third quarter.
 
Sofie Lowis made her fourth layup at the start of the fourth quarter giving the Cougars a 14-point lead, their largest of the game, with 9:23 to play.
 
Lowis made her sixth three-pointer of the game, tying her career-high against Northern Illinois in the 2023 season.
 
Little Rocks Jordan Holman banked a three-pointer closing SIUE's lead to three points, making the score 79-76 with .16 seconds left in the fourth quarter.
 
The Cougars outlasted the Trojans winning the final game of their season 81-76.
 
As a team the Cougars made 50 percent (29-58) of their shots from the field. Last time the Cougars made 50 percent of their shots was against Morehead State Feb. 20. They also had 16 points off the bench, 18 points off turnovers and seven points off of fast breaks.
