• SIUE welcomes Tennessee Tech for week two of the Ohio Valley Conference regular season. This is SIUE's first OVC home series of the season.
• SIUE has won seven of its last eight games. The Cougars split a doubleheader Thursday at Kansas City. After dropping the opener 3-2, the Cougars blanked the Roos 8-0 in six innings.
• Kiana Villa recorded her third victory in Thursday's nightcap, sharing a shutout in the circle with Emma Henderson.
• SIUE swept Morehead State on the road last weekend. The Cougars were the only team in the Ohio Valley Conference to sweep the series and are in first place in the league. Tennessee State, Southeast Missouri, Eastern Illinois and Western Illinois all are one game back at 2-1.
• Anna Henderson leads the OVC in sacrifice flies with two.
• Lauryn Yslava leads the OVC in runs per game (1.09) and is ranked 52^nd nationally. She has been SIUE's leadoff hitter in all but the first game of the season.
• Emma Henderson has recorded two saves this season and leads the OVC in that category.
• Piper Montgomery leads the OVC in walks per game (0.68).
• SIUE leads the league in several offensive categories as a team, including doubles (28), hits (163), home runs (22), home runs per game (1.00), runs batted in (96), runs scored per game (5.32), slugging percentage (.460) and total runs (117).
