LAST MATCH RESULT
SIUE swept Lindenwood and Southern Indiana to open the OVC regular season. Both matches were played indoors at the Edwardsville Y Meyer Center due to weather conditions.
LAST MEETING VS. WESTERN ILLINOIS
The Cougars have won the last seven meetings with the Leathernecks, including a 4-0 victory in the 2024 OVC Tournament.
OVC HONORS
Amelia Gorman and
Stefaniya Anikina were honored for last week's action against Lindenwood and Southern Indiana. Gorman, the No. 1 singles player for the Cougars, was tabbed the OVC Player of the Week. Gorman and Anikina also were selected as the OVC Doubles Team of the Week. It was Gorman's fourth OVC Player of the Week pick. This also is Gorman's sixth doubles honor of the season and Anikina's fourth. This marks the second time this season they have earned the honor together.
COUGAR LEADERS
- Gorman leads the Cougars with 18 singles wins this season. She passed Monique Krutak (2012-16) for No. 5 on the Division I era singles list.
- Chloe Koons and Payton Tomichek are next on the singles wins list this season with 16. Anikina is 9-0 in singles matches played at No. 5 and No. 6 this season.
- SIUE has flexed its depth this season. The Cougars are 13-0 in No. 5 singles matches and 4-0 in No. 6 singles matches.

SIUE plays host to Southeast Missouri next Friday at 2 p.m. It will be SIUE's final home contest of the season.
