Men's Basketball Adds Oral Roberts Transfer Darius Robinson

EDWARDSVILLE, Ill. – SIUE men's basketball Head Coach Brian Barone has added another transfer to his roster for the 2025-26 season. Darius Robinson (Chicago) will join the Cougars and have one year of eligibility remaining.

Robinson, a 6-foot, 1-inch, 165-pound guard, comes to SIUE after appearing in 30 games last season for Oral Roberts, where he averaged 7.4 points, 1.6 rebounds and 1.3 assists per game.

"I wanted to be a part of SIUE because I wanted to be a part of something that was bigger than myself," Robinson said. "I wanted to be somewhere I felt the coaches believed in me and what I could do."

Robinson joined Oral Roberts after playing two seasons at Casper College in Casper, Wyoming. He appeared in 65 games over two seasons and started all 33 games as a sophomore in 2023-24. He averaged 18.4 points, 3.1 rebounds, 2.3 assists and 1.6 steals per game during his sophomore season.

"The addition of Darius to our team adds experience and versatility," Barone said. "He has shown the ability to score in a variety of ways over his career including at the Division I level. Darius can play multiple positions for our team and his versatility will fit well with our style of play on both sides of the ball. We are excited to welcome Darius to our team"

Robinson is the fourth offseason addition announced by Barone and his staff, joining Mississippi State Transfer Harrison Alexander, Southern Indiana transfer Jack Campion and Nelson University transfer CJ Hall. Junior college transfer Tyler King (North Central Missouri) and true freshman Dehrio McCaskill (Vashon HS) signed with the Cougars in the fall.

SIUE is coming off the program's first Ohio Valley Conference championship and appearance in the NCAA men's basketball tournament. The Cougars finished the year at 22-12, marking the most wins in a single season at the Division I level.
