TERRE HAUTE, Ind. – The SIUE men's and women's cross country teams wrapped up their largest meet of the season Friday at Indiana State's Nike XC Town Twilight.
The women's team finished ninth among 17 scoring teams with 217 points in the 6k, while the men's side placed 11
th among 15 scoring teams with 335 points in the 8k.
Junior
Erica Woodard once again led the way for the SIUE women, crossing the finish line 27
th overall among 179 finishing runners with a time of 22:57.7. Freshman
Julie Bach followed closely, taking 30
th at 23:03.5.
Senior
Mia Loafman was the next Cougar across the finish line, finishing 53
rd in 23:40.2. Freshman
Ashley Zeibert was close behind at 58
th at 23:47.0, while junior
Emilee Franklin rounded out SIUE's top five at 63
rd overall with a time of 23:49.9.
On the men's side, freshman
Christian Knobloch paced the Cougars in the 8K, finishing 63
rd of 186 runners at 26:59.6. Sophomore
Aaron Conderman and Junior
Jack Willenborg placed closely together, with Conderman taking 76
th with a time of 27:18.9 and Willenborg claiming 78
th at 27:22.0.
Freshman Augie Gaudio concluded the Cougars placements in the top 100, taking 95
th at 27:52.5 in his first collegiate 8K race.
The Cougars will return to action in two weeks at the Bradley Pink Invite on Oct. 16. The women will compete in a 6k, while the men will run a 8K.
