Final Regular Season Road Trip Begins at Tennessee Tech Thursday

  • SIUE and Tennessee Tech meet for the second time this season and 26th time overall.
  • Tennessee Tech has a slim 13-12 advantage in the all-time series, but SIUE defeated Tennessee Tech in Edwardsville in January and has won five straight in the series.
  • SIUE is fifth in the OVC, but just two games back of first place. A Thursday win clinches a tournament spot for the Cougars.
  • The Cougars are 8-5 in true road games. SIUE's eight true road wins are a new Division I program record for road wins in a season.
  • The Golden Eagles currently sit one game back on OVC Tournament spot. 
  • The Cougars are second in the OVC in field goal percent defense at .390, which is 9th in the NCAA.
  • SIUE is allowing 65.0 points, which is second in the league and is ranked 14th in the NCAA.
  • SIUE is 16-3 when allowing 70 or fewer points.
  • Tyler King scored a career-high 27 points against UT Martin. He was 9-16 shooting and 6-11 from three-point range.
  • King was named Player and Newcomer of the Week in the OVC Feb.9. He averaged 20.5 points in road wins at Lindenwood and Little Rock.
  • He has scored in double figures in 10 straight games and 11 of his last 12.
  • Arnas Sakenis recorded his third career double-double against SEMO Feb. 12 with 15 points and a career-best 16 rebounds.
  • Sakenis leads the league with 60 total blocks and an average of 2.2 blocks a game.
  • Sakenis has 145 blocks in his career, which is second all-time at SIUE and three away from the all-time lead
