COMMERCE, Texas - SIUE softball finished the 2026 Lion Classic with a 4-1 record after dropping the finale Sunday to North Texas 8-0.
The Cougars now stand at 6-9 and next head to the Colonel Classic in Richmond, Kentucky, next weekend. SIUE faces Bradley, Saint Louis, host Eastern Kentucky and Pittsburgh (twice). Next weekend's action will be the final regular season tournament for the Cougars and the final action before Ohio Valley Conference play gets underway March 7th.

North Texas managed four extra-base hits in Sunday's finale with rallies of five runs in the second and three in the third. North Texas is now 6-10 overall.
