EDWARDSVILLE, Ill. – SIUE wrestling closes out its home schedule Friday at 6 p.m. against Mid-American Conference rival Central Michigan.
This a makeup from the match originally scheduled for Jan. 25 at First Community Arena.
SIUE enters the contest with a 9-1 dual match record and a 3-0 record in the MAC, which leads the West Division. Central Michigan holds a 7-5 overall record and a 1-2 mark in MAC action.
This is SIUE's first event since the NCAA Coaches National Ranking was announced. Four SIUE wrestlers were ranked in the top 33, an indicator as to who will be competing at the NCAA Division I Championships in March.
SIUE's ranked wrestlers include 133-pounder Marcel Lopez (20th), 149-pounder Caleb Tyus (3rd), 165-pounder Brock Woodcock (25th), and 285-pounder Bryson Buhk (31st). Central Michigan has two nationally-ranked wrestlers in 157-pounder Mason Shrader (21st) 285-pounder Bryan Caves (28th).
