EDWARDSVILLE, Ill. - SIUE wrestling dropped its first Mid-American Conference match of the season Friday 21-14 to Central Michigan at First Community Arena.

Three ranked SIUE wrestlers walked way winners, but the Cougars were defeated in six matches.

No. 18 Marcel Lopez bested Andrew Austin 5-1 at 133 pounds. Caleb Tyus, ranked No. 3 nationally, blanked Jimmy Nugent 8-0 at 149 pounds. Brock Woodcock, ranked 21st nationally, overwhelmed Chandler Amaker 15-3 at 165 pounds.

Deron Pulliam also grabbed a 7-3 victory at 184 pounds over Central Michigan's Adrien Cramer.

SIUE next heads to the Greyhound Open Sunday. The Cougars' final two dual meets are at Buffalo next Friday and Northern Illinois (Feb. 20).
