CLEVELAND, Ohio – The SIUE wrestling team ended its run at the 2026 NCAA Division I Championships at Rocket Arena.
SIUE's Caleb Tyus dropped his 149-pound second round consolation match to Wyoming's Gabe Willochell 8-3. Marcel Lopez was defeated in his 133-pound second round consolation match in a 2 minute, 15 second fall to Penn's Evan Mougalian.
SIUE wrestling finished with one of its most successful runs in decades under Head Coach Jeremy Spates. The Cougars recorded an 11-2 dual match record and won the Mid-American Conference West Division for the first time.
