EDWARDSVILLE, Ill. – An announced softball crowd of 1,018 at Cougar Field watched as the Missouri Tigers defeated the SIUE Cougars 8-0 in five innings Tuesday.
Ciera Harrison went the distance for the Tigers and improved to 7-4. Mia Volpert tossed four innings for SIUE and fell to 5-7.
Stefania Abruscato recorded three RBIs, including a first-inning home run over the right field fence. Madison Unptegrove added two RBIs for the Tigers, which improved to 16-18. Missouri finished with 13 hits overall.
The Cougars, 13-18, next head to UT Martin for a three-game Ohio Valley Conference series in Martin, Tennessee. The schedule includes a Saturday doubleheader starting at noon and a single game Sunday at noon.
