Love Like Lindsey Game Set for Wednesday April 15

EDWARDSVILLE, Ill. – SIUE Athletics will pay tribute to longtime academic advisor Lindsey Schmidt, who passed away in December following a short illness.

All who knew Lindsey are invited to celebrate her life and the impact she made when SIUE baseball plays host to Saint Louis Wed., April 15 at 6 p.m. at Roy E. Lee Field at Simmons Baseball Complex. That night's game will be the Love Like Lindsey game.

Lindsey served as a member of the student-success team at SIUE for 17 years. Baseball was one of the teams she worked closely with.

Commemorative bracelets will be handed out as fans enter the gates and Lindsey's husband, Justin, and two children will be on hand to throw out the first pitch.

Throughout the game, tributes from student-athletes, athletics staff members and campus colleagues will be read while the music soundtrack will feature favorites of Lindsey's.

Beginning that night, SIUE baseball and all athletics teams at SIUE will wear a commemorative patch on their uniforms with the Love Like Lindsey logo.

Tickets for the game are available and can be purchased online.

Additionally, Lindsey's family also will host a celebration of life at May 2 at Tower Grove Park in St. Louis. Attendees are invited to register for the event online.
