COLUMBIA, Mo. – Missouri snapped SIUE softball's five-game winning streak Wednesday in a 7-0 contest at Mizzou Softball Stadium.
SIUE dropped to 22-25 overall while the Tigers bumped their record up to 25-24.
Marissa McCann went the distance in the circle for Mizzou, fanning 11 batters.
Mia Volpert, 6-9, took the loss for the Cougars. She allowed two runs on eight hits in her 3 2/3 innings of work. Kiana Villa and Haley Strain came out of the bullpen over the final three innings.
The Cougars now return their focus to the Ohio Valley Conference race. Sitting in third place in the league standings, SIUE heads to Nashville, Tennessee, this weekend for a three-game series against Tennessee State.
