EDWARDSVILLE, Ill. - Four SIUE women's tennis players were named Academic All-District today by College Sports Communications, which recognizes the nation's top student-athletes for their combined performances on the court and in the classroom.

Stefaniya Anikina, Chloe Koons, Jessica Li, and Cydney Rogers were among the honorees for SIUE. Eligible nominees were in the lineup for 75 percent of an institution's days of competition (regional competition such as ITAs and non-team scored events do not count) and achieved a cumulative grade point average of 3.500.

All four were major contributors to the Cougars winning the Ohio Valley Conference regular season title in 2026.

Anikina, a junior from Karaganda, Kazakhstan, holds with a 4.0 grade point average in accountancy. She posted a 16-5 singles record for the season and a 16-8 mark in doubles matches.

Koons, a junior from Glen Carbon, Illinois, is a chemistry major at SIUE with a 3.744 GPA. She finished the season with a 10-2 record in singles dual matches and a 14-6 record overall. Koons added a 6-3 record in doubles play.

Li, a junior from Auckland, New Zealand, is a business administration and marketing major at SIUE is a 4.0 GPA. She posted a 13-8 singles record and a 13-7 mark in doubles play.

Rogers, a senior from Jonesboro, Arkansas, is a biological sciences major with a 3.884 grade point average. She held a 5-0 record in singles matches and a 13-2 record in her doubles play.

Academic All-District honorees advance to the CSC Academic All-America ballot. First, second and third team will be announced in June.
