EDWARDSVILLE, Ill. – SIUE women's basketball Head Coach Samantha Quigley Smith has added more experience to her roster for the 2025-26 season, announcing the addition of Tyra Robinson (Little Rock, Arkansas).
Robinson is a 6-foot, 3-inch forward who comes to SIUE after spending two seasons at Missouri State. She played her freshman season at Western Carolina.
"Tyra brings a level of experience to the table that our young group needs," Smith said. "Her size, versatility, and paint presence will be a great asset. The balance in scoring and paint protection on the inside will be something she provides on both sides of the ball."
At Missouri State, Robinson appeared in 22 games over two seasons, averaging 1.6 points per game. She averaged 3.5 points and 1.6 rebounds per game in 29 games as a true freshman at Western Carolina. She also recorded seven blocked shots for the Catamounts.
The Cougars won 16 games in 2025-26 and advanced to the second round of the Ohio Valley Conference tournament.
Robinson is the fourth offseason transfer to sign with the Cougars, joining Riley Abney, Giselle Dogan and Pryelle Kesse-Beda announced earlier this month. She is the eighth overall addition announced by Smith. In November, the Cougars announced four early signees: Brooke Blakenship (Festus, Missouri), Jayla McClinton (Raytown, Missouri), Alex Nicastro (St. Charles, Missouri) and Taylor Trame (Avistion, Illinois) who all were announced in November.
