EDWARDSVILLE, Ill. – For the eighth consecutive season under Head Coach Adam Albertsen, the SIUE women's tennis team has been honored for academic achievements by the Intercollegiate Tennis Association (ITA).

"This team continued to raise the bar on the courts and in the classroom this past year," said Albertsen. "I am extremely proud of the work they put in as student-athletes and how they represent SIUE in the community. Go Cougars!"

Nine SIUE women's tennis players, who led the Cougars to the 2026 regular season Ohio Valley Conference crown, were named Division I Women's ITA Scholar-Athletes, and the team overall was selected among the nation's All-Academic teams. Student-athletes must earn at least a 3.5 GPA for inclusion as an ITA scholar-athlete.

SIUE's ITA Scholar-Athletes are Elena Palioura, Chloe Koons, Margaux Guibal Britt, Stefaniya Anikina, Mya Bowe, Jessica Li, Emerson Metzger, Aliya Rector and Cydney Rogers. They were among 1,501 Division I women's student-athletes nationwide.
