FOR OPENERS: SIUE opened its 60th men's soccer season at Kansas City last Thursday night. It is the 19th since the return to Division I status. Since then, SIUE is now 7-7-5 in season openers. 

ROAD TRIPPING: This is SIUE's final game of three straight road games to start the season. The Cougars will not play at home until Sep. 6.

RANK AND FILE: SIUE has faced a pair of ranked opponent to start the season. The Cougars dropped a Thursday contest to 24th-ranked Michigan State after opening the season against No. 25 Kansas City. The Cougars are set to open the home season with eighth-ranked Saint Louis. 

THE SERIES: The Cougars and Wolverines have met only once in men's soccer in 2019. The Wolverines got a 3-1 win. 

TOURING THE GREAT LAKES STATE: When SIUE faced Michigan in 2019, it was the first road trip of Michigan-native Cale Wassermann's first season as head coach. That trip, like this current trip, also began with a game at Michigan State.
