ANNUAL GIVING

When you invest in SIUE Athletics by donating to the Cougar Athletic Excellence Fund, you provide student-athletes the opportunity to earn a college degree and compete in the sport they love. Every dollar is appreciated, and your annual contribution to the Cougar Athletic Excellence Fund is vital to ensure the growth and success of SIUE Athletics. 

Unrestricted Giving

• Cougar Athletic Excellence Fund (Annual Fund)
  
  The Annual Fund is the lifeblood of SIUE Athletics. Contributions to the Cougar Athletic Excellence Fund directly impact the lives of SIUE student-athletes. Growing the number of gifts and dollars raised for the “unrestricted” Annual Fund is a top priority for SIUE Athletics. While it is always the right of the donor to select where he or  she prefers their gift to go, the Athletic Development staff asks donors to consider allocating at least half of their annual donation to “unrestricted.” 
• Unrestricted gifts to the Cougar Athletic Excellence Fund gives the department the flexibility to cover a wide range of operational needs:
  1. Emerging needs and priorities as determined by the Director of Athletics.
  2. Rising annual cost of student-athlete financial aid.
  3. Academic support services. 
  4. Operational budget for all 16 Division I varsity sports.

Restricted Giving

• It is the right of the donor to allocate donations to a specific sport or sports, the Nutrition Center, the Strength and Conditioning program, Sports Medicine, or any other designation the donor so chooses. These designated gifts will be put into the budget of each sport or area and are then available for the coach or administrator to use as he/she deems necessary based on emerging needs and priorities.
