Kevin Giese, who was a full-time assistant for Southern Illinois University Edwardsville during the 2003-2004 season, has rejoined the staff as an assistant coach prior to the 2008-09 season.Giese served as a volunteer coach for the Cougars during the 2007-08 campaign. He also has held positions of head women's basketball coach at Robert Morris College in Springfield during the 2005-2006 season, where he led the Eagles to a fifth place finish at the National Tournament. He was also the program director for Jets basketball in O'Fallon in 2005. Giese was the head women's basketball and tennis coach at Stephens College in Columbia, Mo., during the 2002-2003 season. He previously was the women's basketball and golf coach for four years at the University of Dubuque (Iowa). While the head basketball coach he guided Dubuque to the most conference wins in school history, and its first-ever berth in the conference tournament.Giese, who is originally from Wilton, Iowa, also has a variety of college and high school experience in basketball, golf, softball, football and tennis.He earned a bachelor's degree in 1999 from the University of Northern Iowa.Giese's wife Beth is a marketing specialist at SIUE. The couple has two children, Kenneth and Andrea.
