Prior to SIUE: Helped lead Bradley to two conference championships and two runner-up finishes, while personally scoring twice at the conference level... His personal best include 3:53 in the 1500m, 4:08 in the mile, 8:25 in the 3k, 14:26 in the 5k, and 24:32 in the 8k....Was recognized as a Missouri Valley Conference Scholar Athlete... Graduated from Bradley as a summa cum laude and earned the John H. Shroyer Scholarship for Excellence in Organic Chemistry... Also received the Mund-Lagowski Department of chemistry Award & Biochemistry Academic Excellence Award, and the 2025 Board of Directors Academic Excellence Award. 

During his high school career he was a four-year letter winner in cross country at Metamora Township High School... He also ran track in 2019 and 2021... During his senior year he finished second at the state championships in cross country, and place 16th as a junior- earning all-state both times... Also earned all-conference honors twice... Helped to lead the Redbirds to two seconal and regional titles... Placed top 10 at the state meet on three occasions... finished sixth in the 3,200m on the track ot earn all-state honors... Also won the sectional title in the event, while earning all-conference honors... Claimed two team conference titles on the track with the Redbirds... Posted PR times of 15:02 in the three miles, 1:59 in 800m, 4:19 in 1,600m, and 9:23 in 3,200m.
