2018: Ran PR times in both the 5K and 8K... His 8K PR time of 26:05.2 was recorded at the Bradley Pink Classic 10/12... His 5K PR time of 16:58.6 was set at the Saluki Invitational 8/31

2017: Ran the second fastest 10K time (32:10.4) for a freshmen in SIUE history at the NCAA Midwest Regionals... Had a personal record in the 8K at the OVC Championships with a time of 26:24.3... O'Connell had his best finish at the Bradley Invitational where he finished 12th.
