SIUE

The 2014 season marks Jones’ first season as co-headcoach. It is his seventh season with the Cougars, making him thelongest tenured member of the staff.

Jones has served as SIUE’s goalkeepers coach and hasenjoyed unprecedented success. John Berner earned 2012 and 2013 MVCGoalkeeper of the Year honors. He is now playing with the ColoradoRapids of the MLS after being selected with the 35^thoverall pick (second round) in the 2014 MLS SuperDraft. PreviouslyJones helped mentor goalkeeper Nick Frasca who finished his careeras SIUE’s career leader with 21 shutouts. 

Jones and his fellow SIUE coaches were selected as the 2012Missouri Valley Conference Coaching Staff of the Year.

Originally from St. Louis, Jones played professional soccer inBelgium and Portugal after high school for Sint-Niklaaz (Belgium),Olivais-Muscovide (Portugal), and the Kansas City Wizards ofMLS.

Jones and wife, Rebecca, have one son: Remi. The family residesin St. Louis.
