Drew Romig

Drew Romig joined the men's soccer staff in August 2025 as an Assistant Coach with a focus on the goalkeepers.

He joins the Cougars after most recently playing in USL League 1 with the Charlotte Independence. He also has professional experience with Memphis in the USL Championship, where he made 24 starts in goal. Romig spent the 2021 season with Tormenta FC2 in Statesboro, Georgia where was named USL League Two Goalkeeper of the Year, earned spots on the USL League Two National Team of the Year and the USL League Two Southern Conference Team of the Year.

Romig began his college career at North Carolina where he was part of back-to-back ACC Championship teams in 2016 and 2017. He transferred to Belmont where he amassed a record of 18-2-8 in 28 games in 2020 and 2021. In 2021, Romig was named to the SoCon All-Tournament team and was an All-South Region First Team selection.

Drew Romig is the son of David and Amy Romig. His sister, Lindsey, was a goalkeeper at the University of Tennessee. His brother, Trey Romig is the Head Golf Professional at Zapotal Golf and Beach Club in Costa Rica.
