SIUE

Lupana Morales joined the SIUE staff as an Assistant Athletic Trainer in July 2022. Her primary responsibility is SIUE women's basketball. 

Morales came to Edwardsville from Catawba College in Salisbury, North Carolina where she was an assistant athletic trainer and an adjunct professor. She was the primary athletic trainer for men’s basketball, swimming and cheerleading and also served as the mental health liaison for the athletics department.

Morales also was a clinical preceptor for the Catawba College Athletic Training Education Program and a professor CPR, First Aid and Emergency Response.

Before Catawba, Morales served as an Assistant Athletic Trainer at Jackson State, serving as the primary athletic trainer for men’s basketball, women’s soccer and softball.

Morales earned her bachelor’s from the University of the Pacific before obtaining her master’s at Carson-Newman. She is Certified Athletic Trainer, a member of the National Athletic Trainer Association. She also is certified in CPR and AED for Professional Rescuer and is an American Red Cross Instructor.
