Erin Wykoff

Erin Wykoff came to SIUE in August 2020 as an assistant coach for Cross Country and Track and Field specializing in the throwing events.

Coach Wykoff has coached numerous OVC conference champions and top three podium finishers in the shot-put and hammer throws. During the 2024 season, Alexis Hutchins won the outdoor shot put title. Hutchins was runner up in the OVC Outdoor Championships in 2023 and won the OVC Indoor Championships in shot-put in 2022.

In 2023, SIUE was represented at the NCAA West Preliminary Round by Dominika Baranska in the hammer competition, who also won the OVC title. In 2021, Austin Lynch won the OVC Outdoor Championship in discus and placed third in hammer.

Wykoff coached at Lee University from 2019-2020 where she received her Master’s Degree in Higher Education Administration in December, 2020. Lee won both the men’s and women’s GSC Indoor Championship team titles with throwers finishing in the top three in both weight and shot-put.

At Appalachian State University (2016-2019), Coach Wykoff helped lead the women’s team to a Sunbelt Indoor Conference Championship in 2016 and the men garnered top-three finishes in shot-put. At the 2016 Sunbelt Outdoor Championships, App State throwers again finished on the podium in shot-put along with qualifying for NCAA DI East Preliminary Round. In 2017, the men also finished top three in both the shot-put and weight at the Sunbelt Indoor Championships and top three in shot-put in Outdoor Championships. During the 2019 season, the women athletes were on the podium for the weight throw at Sunbelt Indoor Championships and the men scored top three in the hammer throw at the Outdoor Championships.

While at Rider University (2014-2015), Coach Wykoff’s throws team competed in the MAAC Indoor Championships with both the men and women finishing top three in the weight and shot-put, with the men winning individual gold in the shot-put. At the MAAC Outdoor Championships, the women won the shot-put title and the men had a top 3 finisher on the podium.

Wykoff served as a Volunteer Assistant at the University of Wisconsin during the 2013-2014 season. Wisconsin Track and Field won both Indoor and Outdoor Big Ten Conference Championships in 2014. Wykoff was also part of the training team for Wisconsin’s Kelsey Card, who represented US Olympic Team in women’s discus in both the 2016 and 2020 Olympics, and NCAA DI and Big Ten Champion Michael Lihrman in weight throw and NCAA DI 3rd place, All American in hammer.

Coach Wykoff began her career at McKendree University (2012-13). During the GLVC Indoor Championships, the women finished top 3 in the weight throw. At the GLVC Outdoor Championships, the women recorded top three finishes in the discus while the men won gold in both the javelin and discus, along with other top three finishes in discus.

As an athlete, the St. Jacob, Illinois, native competed collegiality at the University of Virginia and graduated in 2012 with a bachelor's in sociology. While there, Wykoff participated in the throwing events on the women's track team, specializing in the discus, hammer throw and weight throw. She was a three-time NCAA East Preliminary Round qualifier in discus. In the 2012 outdoor season, she was the Atlantic Coast Conference (ACC) discus champion. In 2011, Wykoff earned second-team All-American honors after finishing 12th in the discus at the outdoor NCAA championships.

Erin is USATF Level 1 certified. Additionally, she holds USTFCCCA Throwing Event Specialist and Strength and Conditioning certifications.

Coach Wykoff also serves as the staff advisor for SIUE FCA.
