Rob Young was named student assistant coach for the SIUE men's and women's tennis programs under head coach Jason Coomer in the fall of 2010.A native of Kirkland, Ill., Young worked as Director of Junior Tennis at Wynstone Country Club in North Barrington, Ill. from 2006-09 where he served as a mentor to over 300 young players.While a student-athlete at SIUE, Young recorded 76 wins in singles and doubles during his three years as a Cougar to lead the program in total match victories. He also has the most Division I doubles wins in SIUE history with 20.Young joined SIUE after a successful freshman season at North Greenville University where he helped the team to the 2007 National Christian College Athletic Association National Championship and was named to the NCCAA All-America team.Prior to playing at the collegiate level, Young was a top-ranked junior player and held the No. 1 rank in the Northern Illinois District and finished as high as No. 17 in the USTA Midwest section.
