Iliyan Chamov

The 2014-15 season will mark Iliyan Chamov's third as the jumpscoach for the SIUE men's and women's track & field teams.

A native of Bulgaria, Chamov served as an assistant coach atLindenwood University from 2009-2011.  He coached sevennational champions, 16 All-Americans, and five qualifiers for theWorld University Games.

From 2011-2012, Chamov coached several track & fieldathletes on the international stage.

He joined SIUE in 2013 as a volunteer assistant coach,overseeing the development of La'Derrick Ward, the school'sfirst-ever qualifier for NCAA Div. I National Championships.

Chamov's tutelage has made an immense impact for the Cougars.Since joing the program, Chamov has coached seven Ohio ValleyConference champions, four Regional qualifiers, five NCAA DivisionI qualifiers, three All-Americans. His jumpers have broken 17school records in that time.  

As an athlete, Chamov competed at Lindenwood from2006-2009 and won four consecutive national titles in the triplejump.

He has a bachelor's degree in athletic trainingalong with a master's degree in human performance fromLindenwood.
