Jacob Villarreal comes to SIUE after spending the last year at the Phytex Sports Medicine Clinic where he served as an Athletic Trainer for local high school athletes and the Odessa Jackalopes professional hockey team. At the same time, Villarreal served as an intern at Texas-Permian Basin. He obtained his bachelor’s degree in athletic training from Texas in 2019 and is a Certified Athletic Trainer from the National Athletic Training Association.

Villarreal will serve as the primary athletic trainer for softball.
