Ben Heimos returned to the SIUE Athletic Training staff in July 2026 after spending the previous nine years at Saint Louis University. His primary responsibility at SIUE will be covering the women's basketball program.
Heimos has been a practicing Certified Athletic Trainer since 2003. He received his bachelor's degree from Evansville before earning his master's from Indiana State.
At SLU, Heimos was responsible for the men's soccer and baseball programs beginning in February 2017.
Prior to his time at Saint Louis, Heimos was an assistant athletic trainer at SIUE, providing coverage for women's soccer and baseball from 2009 through 2017. He also spent five seasons in the Miami Marlins organization as an Athletic Trainer and has experience in independent baseball, high school athletics and in the clinical setting.
