Lynn Anderson

Lynn Anderson was named an assistant coach for the Cougars in September 2024.

In one season as an assistant, Anderson helped SIUE catapult to the top of nearly every offensive and defensive category in OVC games.

SIUE’s numbers also saw in serious upgrade in 2025. The Cougars were ranked in the top two most statistical categories on offense and defense, including a .327 batting average in OVC play. SIUE broke the school record for home runs in a season with 45 as Emma Henderson set a new Division I standard with 13 home runs.

Anderson joined SIUE softball after spending the last three seasons at Minnesota Duluth, where the Bulldogs amassed 120 victories during her tenure. Minnesota Duluth posted a 41-15 record last season.

Amassing 40 wins in two different seasons, Anderson led the Bulldogs to a NSIC Tournament title in 2023 after winning 39 games in her first season. She became the fastest in school history to record 100 victories.

Anderson helped develop the 2023 conference pitcher of the year, who also set the school record for career strikeouts.

She led Grinnell from 2018 to 2022 and set the Pioneers' conference single-season win record with 13 victories in 2019.

Anderson coached five seasons as an assistant at UW Oshkosh. Working primarily with hitting and outfielders, she helped the Titans to two straight NCAA Division III National Softball Tournament appearances and a regional title in 2017. The Titans compiled a 138-63 record during Anderson's tenure and had 14 All-Great Lakes Region, 26 All-Conference and 50 Conference Scholastic Honor Roll selections. 
  
She has previous coaching stops instructing at the Milwaukee Brewers (MLB) Summer Camp, a volunteer coaching post at the University of Wisconsin (NCAA Division I) and as a graduate assistant coaching job at Valparaiso. 
 
As a walk-on student-athlete at Wisconsin, Anderson lettered for four seasons while playing shortstop for the Badgers. She was named team captain in 2008 and later was voted the team's Defensive Player of the Year.  Anderson led the Badgers in home runs (9), total bases (68), and slugging percentage (.489) in 2008 as well as finishing second on the team in batting average, on-base percentage, runs scored, hits and RBIs. 
  
Anderson left Wisconsin tied for fourth for single-season home runs and fifth in career assists with 311.  Anderson was part of the 2005 Wisconsin squad that made the program's third NCAA Division I National Softball Tournament appearance and was one of 34 women in the country invited to the USA Baseball Women's National Team Development Program in 2014. 
  
A 2008 graduate of Wisconsin, she earned bachelor's degrees in sociology and a criminal justice certificate. She gained her master's degree in sports administration from Valparaiso in December 2011, graduating with the highest distinction. Â
