Markus Guegler joined SIUE Athletics as the Athletic Performance Graduate Assistant. He will be working with women’s soccer, women’s tennis, cross country. Guegler will also co-coach Wresting with Tanner Plourde. His role is to help prepare the athletes for the physical demands of their sports.
Prior to coming to SIUE, Guegler worked as an Olympic Sports Performance intern at the University of Louisville KY. He also spent time in California working as a personal trainer and group instructor and youth basketball coach.
Guegler is certified by the National Strength and Conditioning Association as a strength and conditioning specialist and is a National Academy of Sports Medicine certified Personal Trainer. He is also certified as a USA weightlifting Level one coach. Guegler is an ELDOA Level one and two student, certified pain free performance specialist, and First Aid / CPR / and AED certified.
