         SAN ANTONIO, Texas - Some like to call it home cooking.
         Incarnate Word overcame a seven-point halftime deficit to defeat Southern Illinois University Edwardsville 73-72 in the title game of the Bid Light Holiday Classic.
         The Cougars, 4-6, converted 12 three-pointers but fell late to a strong shooting effort in the second half by host Incarnate Word.
         Marty Perry led all scorers with 18 points. Derrick Fomby added 15 points. Garrett Thomas had 12 points on four three-pointers.
         Incarnate Word, 9-1, had four players finish in double figures. The Crusaders were led by 14 points from Jamar Love. Chris Johnson recorded a double-double with 13 points and 12 rebounds. Incarnate Word dominated the boards, outrebounding the Cougars 49-31.
         SIUE now returns to the Vadalabene Center for a 7:30 p.m. contest on Thursday against Truman State.
