Volleyball Overpowers Wisconsin-Parkside

         The Southern Illinois University Edwardsville volleyball team turned in its best offensive performance of the season Friday, defeating Wisconsin-Parkside 30-16, 30-25, 30-19 at the Vadalabene Center.
         With the victory, SIUE improved to 17-9 overall and 7-3 in the Great Lakes Valley Conference. Wisconsin-Parkside fell to 14-10 and 7-3. The Cougars next face a Lewis team on Saturday at 1 p.m. Lewis has been in the American Volleyball Coaches Association's Top 25 with a 23-2 record overall.
         Jennifer Trame (Highland) led all players with 13 kills against Wisconsin-Parkside as she finished with a hitting percentage of .458. Andrea Voss (St. Rose) followed with 10 kills and a .474 hitting percentage.
         As a team, the Cougars hit a season best .429. Erica Scheutte (St. Charles, Mo.) recorded 40 assists. The Cougars also had seven blocks while forcing 20 Wisconsin-Parkside errors.
