SIUE Topples Lady Hawks

         Andrea Voss and Heather Bonde posted 15 and 14 kills, respectively, as SIUE defeated the visiting Quincy Lady Hawks 3-1 Saturday afternoon at the Vadalabene Center. Game scores were 27-30, 30-17, 30-21 and 30-17.
         SIUE improves its overall record to 18-3. The Cougars are atop the Green Division in the Great Lakes Valley Conference with a GLVC-best 6-1 conference mark.
         Voss hit a team-high .406 on the afternoon. Leading the way defensively was Allison Buss' 14 digs. Beth DeGreeff followed with 12 digs and Krystal Majernik had 10 while posting 14 assists.
         Quincy (13-8, 5-3 GLVC), who defeated SIUE earlier this season, took game one but could not find its offensive rhythm the rest of the match. Quincy ended with a .021 team-hitting percentage. Pacing the offensive attack was Amber Heimann's 14-kill performance.
         The Cougars out-blocked Quincy 17-9.
         SIUE will next be in action Wednesday when it entertains conference-rival Missouri-St. Louis at the Vadalabene Center. Game time is set for 7 p.m.
