By way of a 2-0 victory over Wisconsin-Parkside today at Cougar Field, the Southern Illinois University Edwardsville softball team will play in the title game of the Great Lakes Valley Conference Championships.
         The game, which was originally scheduled for 1 p.m. Sunday, has been pushed up to noon to accommodate the expected wet weather. SIUE will face the same Wisconsin-Parkside as UWP defeated Lewis in the consolation round to earn a spot in the title game.
         RyAnn Spann pitched a one-hitter and Holly Neuerburg hit a two-run single to give the Cougars the 2-0 victory over UWP.
         Offense was hard to come by for both teams. UWP's Kristen Brestan allowed three hits and two runs, all in the third inning.
         Katie Waldo and Shanna Waldo both singled, then Neuerburg singled up the middle to plate both Waldos in what was the only scores of the game.
         Spann allowed a hit in the second inning, then shutdown UWP the rest of the game. She finished with four strikeouts.
         SIUE, looking to repeat as GLVC champions, has won 21 of its last 23 games.
