Cougars Scratch Past Pumas

         Southern Illinois University Edwardsville volleyball cruised past St. Joseph's for a 30-22, 30-26, 30-26 victory on Friday night in Great Lakes Valley Conference play at the Vadalabene Center.
         Heather Bonde recorded 15 kills to lead the Cougars to their fourth straight win at home. SIUE now has a record of 19-6 overall and 10-2 in the GLVC.
         Krystal Majernik had 35 assists to go along with seven kills and a .714 hitting percentage. Allison Buss had another solid night on defense with 22 digs to add to her GLVC lead of 5.17 digs per game.
         Tina Talsma had 3.5 blocks in match as she improved her GLVC leading blocks per game average to 1.06 and her total blocks to 93.
         St. Joseph's was led by Breanne Evans and Jill Mourey who each had ten kills on the evening. Setter Brittany Wikierak recored 25 assists for the Pumas who fell to 11-17 overall, 6-6 in the GLVc.
         The Cougars will do battle with Indianapolis tomorrow as the Greyhounds invade the Vadalabene Center. Match time is set for 2 p.m.
