Cougars Finish 18th at NCAA Regionals

        Southern Illinois University Edwardsville women's cross country team finished its season 18th place, 495 points, in the NCAA Division II Great Lakes Regional Championships on Saturday at the SIUE Cross Country Course. Grand Valley State took home the team championship with a total of 31 points as five of their runners finished in the top 10.
        Senior Marty Witte came in 73rd for the Cougars with a time of 24 minutes and 38.59 seconds in 8,000 meters. Great Lakes Valley Conference Freshman of the year Kelly Flounders had a time of 24:47.94 good for 78th place.
        Lee Ann Lomax came at 100th place finish with a mark of 25:24.66.
        Southern Indiana's Heather Cooksey was the regional champion with a time of 22:00.23.
