         Tina Talsma (Ontario, Canada) led all hitters with 15 kills as Southern Illinois University Edwardsville defeated Wisconsin-Parkside 30-19, 30-27, 30-22 in college volleyball on Friday night.
         Talsma had 18 total points in the contest improving the Cougars to 9-4 overall and 1-0 in the Great Lakes Valley Conference. The Rangers fell to 4-8 overall and 0-1 in conference play.
         Kindra Westendorf (Effingham) recorded 11 kills in the match as the Cougars hit .256 as a team. Allison Buss (Towanda) and Shannon Winkeler (Bartelso) each had solid games passing the ball. Buss finished with 19 digs while Winkeler had 14.
         Tricia Happe (St. Louis) had five kills in the contest for .556 hitting percentage. Krystal Majernik (Normal) had a solid setting performance with 43 assists and she ended the match with eight digs.
         Wisconsin-Parkside was led by Brook Stickland, Noelle Swartz, and Kandi Bauer, who combinded for 22 of their team's 37 kills. Ashley Vycital had 29 assists for the Rangers as the Cougars held them to a .106 hitting percentage.
         SIUE's next action is tomorrow afternoon against Lewis at the Vadalabene Center game time is set for 1.
