Grand Valley State University's Mirela Tutundzic netted the game's lone goal to lead the 10th-ranked Lakers to a 1-0 win over Southern Illinois University Edwardsville on Sunday afternoon.
         Tutundzic's goal came at the 15:46 mark of the first half as she put the ball into the top corner giving the Lakers a lead they would never relinquish.
         In a defensive battle the Cougars outshot the Lakers 16-5. Angela Light recorded five shots for SIUE, including four shots on goal. Jessica Brown made three saves for the Cougars in a losing effort, while Lakers goalkeeper Erin Murphy recorded 12 saves in the game.
         SIUE falls to 1-2 on the season, while Grand Valley State improves to 3-1 on the year.
         The Cougars' next action is Friday in a neutral site game in Ashland, Ohio against Mercyhurst. SIUE follows that up with a contest at Ashland next Sunday.
