         EDWARDSVILLE, Ill. - Alicia DeShasier and Lindsey Lass each notched shutouts as Southern Illinois University Edwardsville blanked Lewis 8-0 and 3-0 on Saturday at Cougar Field.
         14th-ranked SIUE improves to 39-9 overall and 15-1 in conference play. While the Flyers drop to 26-19 overall and 11-7 in the GLVC.
         DeShasier pitched five innings giving up four hits while striking out four to improve to 14-4 on the season. DeShasier also hammered her teaming leading eighth home run of the year in the second inning.
         Veronica Schmidt went 2-3 collecting three RBIs, and Sam Easterley went 1-3 with two RBIs.
         In the night cap Laas threw seven innings giving up six hits winning her 14th game in her last 15 decisions. Laas now has a record of 17-4 on the season.
         Libby Lenart and Amy Rogers launched home runs leading the Cougars to victory in game two. Lenart notched her second long ball of the year in the fourth inning, and Rogers blasted an opposite field shot in the fifth, her fourth on the season.
         SIUE ends its regular season tomorrow as the Cougars entertain UW-Parkside at Cougar Field at Noon.
