EDWARDSVILLE, Ill. - Southern Illinois University Edwardsville completed the regular season Sunday witha 0-0 tie against No. 8-ranked Grand Valley State University.
         The Cougars finished the regular season with a 11-4-3 record. SIUE's next action is the Great Lakes Valley Conference Tournament. The Cougars' opponent, date and time has not been determined.
         On Sunday, SIUE goalkeeper Kaci Backs collected seven saves en route to her third shutout of the season. The shutout also lowered her goals against average to 0.97. GVSU goalkeeper Kristina Nasturzio had three saves, including a one-handed save in overtime on a shot by SIUE midfielder Elizabeth Valenti.
         The Cougars were outshot by the Lakers 14-8. Grand Valley State also held a 17-8 advantage in fouls.
