SIUE's Season Ends at NCAA Regional Final

         HILLSDALE, Mich. -- The run for the Southern Illinois University Edwardsville volleyball team ended Saturday with a three-game loss Ashland in the NCAA Division II Great Lakes Regional Championship game.
         SIUE, which ends the season with a 29-6 record, lost to Ashland 30-23, 30-17, 30-24. Ashland advances to the Elite Eight in Pensacola, Fla.
         The Cougars couldn't get on track in the final. Jamie Jones posted five kills and no errors. Mallory Clements was held to a season-low 22 assists.
         Ashland finished with seven service aces, kept SIUE out of system and finished with 61 digs. Mary Kate Glowe led the charge for Ashland with 17 kills while Marina Santos added 10.
         Kelsey Hubert led SIUE with eight kills.
         SIUE picked off eight blocks but did not have a game where it hit better than .100. SIUE hit .068 for the match while Ashland hit .252.
         SIUE tied the school record for wins with 29 and advanced to the Regional Championship match for the second time in school history.
         Clements, Kim Potthast, and Emily Rahn were named to the All-Great Lakes Regional Tournament team.
