ASHLAND, Ohio - Soccer is certainly a game of opportunities. And Southern Illinois University Edwardsville wasn't able to take advantage of its opportunities in a 1-0 loss at Ashland.
         Ashland, 3-1, scored on its only corner kick of the match at 53:52. Kelly Usher scored her third goal of the season for the Eagles.
         SIUE, 2-1 and ranked No. 23 in the nation in the NSCAA Division II poll, outshot the Eagles 18-8, but the flow of play made it look even more daunting. SIUE's offense had multiple chances but were unable to find the back of the net. Jenny Kates and Elizabeth Valenti each had four shots for SIUE.
         The Cougars next travel to Missouri-St. Louis for a 7 p.m. game Wednesday against the Riverwomen.
