SIUE Extends Win Streak to Nine

         Southern Illinois University Edwardsville volleyball extended its win streak to nine matches Saturday with a 30-23, 27-30, 30-21, 30-26 victory over Quincy at the Vadalabene Center.
         Tricia Happe led the Cougars with 14 kills. Kate Hofeldt followed with 10.
         SIUE extended its GLVC-leading record to 8-0 and 15-2 overall. Coach Todd Gober watched as his Cougars pressed the Hawks in several different ways.
         Kelsey Hubert posted nine kills and eight blocks, including three solo blocks. Tiffany Turner, a freshman, collected five service aces among SIUE's 13 overall.
         SIUE's defense shut down Quincy, allowing a .097 hitting percentage for the Hawks.
         Quincy's record dropped to 4-12 overall and 1-4 in the GLVC.
         The Cougars now step aside from the GLVC race for a four-match road trip. SIUE faces No. 4-ranked Truman on Tuesday, Missouri Southern on Thursday, Southwest Baptist on Friday and Pittsburg State on Saturday.
