Truman State played like the No. 4 volleyball team in the nation Tuesday in a 30-26, 30-18, 30-21 win over 19th-ranked Southern Illinois University Edwardsville.
         SIUE fell to 15-3 with all three of its loss coming from teams ranked in the top 10 nationally. No. 4 Truman improved to 17-1.
         The Cougars never found a combination which worked against the Bulldogs. Jamie Jones was strong at the middle hitter position with seven kills, one error on 15 attacks. Kim Potthast led SIUE overall with nine kills.
         Both teams played solid defense. SIUE picked up 67 digs in the three-game match. Truman even topped that mark with 72.
         Truman was led by Melissa Keck, who punished SIUE with 12 kills with no attack errors. Truman finished with 50 kills for the match.
         SIUE continues its road trip Thursday with a non-conference match at Missouri Southern State.
