Errors Costly in 9-8 Loss

        SAVANNAH, GA. -- The lack of practice time outside caught up to Southern Illinois University Edwardsville Saturday at Grayson Stadium.
        SIUE, 0-2, committed seven errors, including six on the left side of the infield, in a 9-8 loss to Wayne State (Neb.).
        The Cougars went back and forth with Wayne State, but it was a ninth-inning RBI single by Jordan Deglan that handed SIUE its second loss of the season.
        SIUE ripped 13 hits and left 12 runners on base. Michael DalPozzo led SIUE with three hits, including a two-run home run in the fourth inning. SIUE's defense, however, was troubled with four errors from shortstop Cory Bunner, two from third baseman Ben Bartley and one from centerfielder Ryan Czyz.
        Wayne State's big blast came in the sixth inning on a grand slam by Scott Bidroski.
        Patrick Keller took the loss for SIUE, pitching only the ninth inning. Adam McGuire was the winning hurler for Wayne State, pithing the final four outs.
        The same two teams play Monday at noon.
