Cougars Go 10 in First Win

        SAVANNAH, GA. -- Southern Illinois University Edwardsville had to go an extra inning Monday for its first win, a 13-11 triumph over Wayne State (Neb.) in 10 innings.
        SIUE, 1-2, picked up an RBI triple from Steve Doll and an RBI single from Zach Stead in the top of the 10th inning. Cody Litteken pitched the final three innings and earned the victory for the Cougars.
        The two teams combined for 27 hits with SIUE also taking a 14-13 edge. The game, which lasted better than four hours, featured SIUE home runs by Ryan Czyz, James Kulovitz and Doll.
        The Cougars return to action Tuesday with a noon doubleheader against Davis & Elkins at Grayson Stadium in Savannah, Ga.
